Sanctuary, Incorporated is proud to welcome 6 new Board members elected at the Annual General Membership Meeting held on November 30, 2010. 4 new faces join our team. They are Ralph Focht, Regine Lee, Lisa Ortiz and our new youth member Gabriel Lapid. In addition, we welcome back 2 old friends, Terese Salumbides and Vince Camacho, former Board members that we are happy to welcome home. Sanctuary also bid farewell and expressed much gratitude to longtime Board members John W. Leon Guerrero and Christine Benavente Quichocho, who are also the past two Board Chairs.
During the Annual General Membership Meeting, Interim Executive Director Millie Lujan reported on the previous year’s activities, highlighting Sanctuary’s accomplishments and challenges, current financial status and projected activities for the upcoming year. The General Membership also voted to amend Sanctuary bylaws, reflecting emerging trends and practices for governance and policy. The last time bylaws were amended was in 2004.
Sanctuary also held its Annual Board Holiday Luncheon and Election of Officers on December 17, 2010, giving the Board of Directors a chance to meet and talk to the Management Team and get to know each other on a more casual basis.
We look forward to great things ahead this year from our Board of Directors as Sanctuary readies itself to face new and exciting challenges and opportunities, including a re-accreditation visit by CARF.
